Beginning with the comic book boom (1938) and lasting through WWII- superheroes have served as a comfort to society and images of perfection. Through time, however, these heroes have grown into a new breed. Rather than being superhuman, they are now super and human. These "heroes" make mistakes, struggle between good and evil, and have common human flaws. My question is why does our society want to see such flawed characters as heroes?

Guess which cool kid got the 70th anniversary of the first Captain America comic re-print
Ha, that's so cool. :D My boyfriend is way into comics and really looking forward to seeing the Green Lantern movie that's coming out in..June? Do you like movie adaptations of comics and do you plan to see TGL when it comes out?
That is cool. I've never really had something that ive been able to avidly collect so I think that its really awesome that you do and were able to integrate into other aspects of your life as well.
